Game of the Month: February - Part 2

Okay...now it is time for the whole 'Part 1', 'Part 2', explanation.
For me, February is a nostalgia month. Basically from November until the end of January I am always busy and find that I end up doing most of the things I do every day...well much less than every day. So when February rolls around I get off my ass and get back into my usual routine of play video games and the other geeky things I had been too busy for.
Why did you need to know that? Well since February is my nostalgic month I wanted to make the game of the month an oldie. But I realized that listeners probably buy games after my reviews on them (at least I hope so anyway, if I ever say something sucks, I'M SERIOUS) so I wanted to post a game that you could all go out and easily get; thus Left4Dead 2 (which I am craving this moment actually....).
Now then, onto the game of the month from ages past....
I am sure everyone who played console games as a kid remembers the Playstation...the ORIGINAL Playstation. The now called PS1. Many a fantastic game came out for that system, but none so good as Legend of Dragoon. When this game came out, the graphics it had where astounding when compared to other games like it, and the gameplay was just as great.
The big thing in the PS1 era was the story length (I believe). I mean they use CDs. Not DVDs. Not Blueray Discs. CDs. You know those really old disc mediums that can't even hold a peanut to most of what we use today. So because of this, there was a limit on what a game could do. Well in order to compensate for this limited disc space and the MASSIVE story line that had been created for Legend of Dragoon they put the game onto separate discs. How many you ask? FOUR. You heard me, this game is FOUR discs long. And the time you put into it will be worth it.
The game is an RPG, where you start off the game as a warrior named Dart who is returning to his home down of Seles after years away from it in pursuit of his childhood menace, the Black Monster. Unfortunately for Dart his return is too late and he returns to a now ransacked Seles.
As the game progress Dart meets more people, and the true purpose behind everyone's existance is this big huge puzzle that ends in a big apocalyptic bang!
The storyline is fantastic, though there is a little unnecessary dialogue, and the characters portrayed are believable.
The only real flaw that I found to the game was that the 'random encounter' system was anything but random and if you work things right you could potentially avoid monsters the whole game (as the only things that will ever really level you are bosses).
All in all I give it a 9/10 and hopes that Sony will either make a refurbished version, or a sequel.
