In Heavy Rain you play as many different characters that are all involved in a kidnapping case concerning the 'Origami Killer'. Throughout the game, the characters are trying to figure out what happened to young Shawn Mars and rescue him before he is killed by the serial killer.
The game itself is played like one huge cinematic, where you decide the thoughts, actions, and words of the characters that are in the 'movie'. As far as my gaming experience is concerned, this gameplay method is 100% unique and is one of the main reasons I loved the game so much.
As for the game's graphics, like most of the games I seem to review, they are amazing. Though in the case of Heavy Rain some of the graphics seem almost completely life like, as if it wasn't CGI at all. One example is the loading screens, where it shows you the face of the character you are going to be playing. The detail put into each of the characters is phenomenal and they almost seem like real people.
I think the most interesting part about this game however, is that there are multiple endings to it. As i stated earlier, you decide the actions, thoughts, and words of the characters you play, and as such depending on what you do, the outcome at the end of the game could be different. I think I heard there's somewhere close to 20 endings or something (five different endings for each of the four characters).
Unfortunately this game is PS3 exclusive, so anyone who does not have a PS3...fidn a friend who does and borrow their system!!!!!
All in all I give this game an 8/10
