Game of the Month: July - Risk Factions

As I promised on this past Tuesday, I let Tommy choose what he wanted to be this month's game of the month. And in all honesty...I am not disappointed in his choice.

Risk Factions is a fun spin off of the old and amazing strategy board game Risk. For anyone who is unfamiliar with the game, you represent a military power on a map of the modern world (or in some cases, other worlds) and your goal (most of the time) is complete and utter world domination. To do this you need to amass troops and wipe your opponents from existence.

Now in Risk Factions, the 'Factions' that you play are what I believe makes it really fun. In the game you can either play as Humans, Robots, Zombies, Cats (they can talk it seems o.O), and....Abominable Snowmen (who knew there was enough of them to make an army?). Now in Risk, you attack people by sending in your troops to attack theirs, and rolling dice (multiple d6 to be exact) to see who is victorious. In Risk Factions, you also add in the hilarity of getting to see your soldiers attack each other. Zombies shoot guns and throw what looks like vomit, cats claw others to death and spit acidic fur balls, it's just really funny to watch.

If you like the game of Risk, you'll definitely like Risk Factions as it just adds a little more fun to an already fun game.

Unfortunately for me, it is only available on Xbox Live, though that's okay, because I guess it gives me an excuse to use Tommy's Xbox =D

In total I give it an 8/10 and two thumbs up.

Happy Gaming :)
