The GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon gets underway Sunday morning at 8 a.m., but road closures will begin even earlier.
On Sunday, southbound Yonge Street will be closed from Ellerslie Avenue to Aylmer Avenue from 7:30 a.m. to about 11 a.m., while Rosedale Valley Road and Bayview Avenue will be closed from 8 a.m. to about 11:30 a.m.
University Avenue will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the eastbound lanes on the south side of Queen's Quay will be closed from 10 a.m. to about 3 p.m.
Several ramps off the Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eastbound ramps include York/Bay and Jarvis off ramps. Westbound ramps include Yonge, Bay, York and Jarvis Streets off ramps.
On the DVP, the Bayview/Bloor westbound ramp to Bayview Ave. southbound will be closed.
The north side westbound lanes of Front Street/ Wellington Street and the St. Lawrence Market area will be affected from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
On Saturday, however, the 2010 Canada's Walk of Fame event will close Yonge Street, between Dundas Street and Dundas Square. The closure will start from Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. to Oct. 16 at 11:59 p.m.
In addition, northbound lanes of Yonge Street will be closed between Queen Street and Shuter Street on Oct. 16 from 7 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Shuter Street, between Victoria Street and Yonge Street, will be closed from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The marathon and other events aren't the only obstacles this weekend.
The northbound DVP will also close for maintenance from the Gardiner to Eglinton Avenue from Oct. 16 at 2.a.m. to Oct. 17 at 5 p.m.
