Games of the Year Countdown!!! NUMBER EIGHT

At number 8 we have Red Dead Redemption, a.k.a. Grand Theft Auto: Cowboy Edition.

RDR was a game that was fun mainly for it's free roaming, not so much its story. While I did do a bunch of the missions at the start, it was mainly so I could get most of the things I needed in order to have fun free roaming (ie. the sniper rifle). The world in RDR is HUGE. It is such a huge world it is actually astonishing. What's even more astonishing is that fact that I can still get mauled in the face by a Bobcat after shooting it in the face twice through the bullet time. I swear, mutant bobcats are NOT to be messed with.

In Red Dead Redemption you play as John Marston, an ex-outlaw who has turned around for no reason other than the government is holding the lives of his family in front of his face. John is tasked with hunting down his old outlaw buddies and bringing them to justice through a long and annoying quest chain.

As for the free roaming, nothing is more amusing than to go around shooting people in the face because they tried to shoot you in the face, and trust me there are a lot of those people. There are looters who will try to rob you, and kleptomaniacs who don't want you getting near their treasure, and ANIMALS! God damned animals! I thought bobcats were bad....holy crap! One bobcat is NOTHING compared to being attacked by three, yes THREE boars. I mean when did those animals become carnivorous?

All in all RDR is a good game that I enjoyed playing, and it ends up as my #8 game of the year!
Red Dead Redemption is available for Playstation 3 or Xbox 360
