Games of the Year Countdown!!! NUMBER FIVE

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.  Today you all get to see my number five Video Game of the Year, which is non other than the Playstation 3 exclusive Heavy Rain!!!

In Heavy Rain you play as 4 different characters who each have their own role to play in a serial murder case that involves the kidnapping of the son of one of the characters, Ethan.  The game itself is more like a movie than a game, but it is still incredibly fun.  Every action you make in the game effects how the story ends, and there A LOT of endings in Heavy Rain.  I so far have seen 10 of them and I still haven't gotten the "See All Endings" trophy >_<

The gameplay of Heavy Rain is basically quick-time events.  That's about it.  There are parts where you can move your characters, but besides that most of the game is a series of quick-times, but you know what, that's okay.  Heavy Rain is a game where I feel it doesn't need anything besides quick-times in order to be good.  The addition of something like an FPS element would be unnecessary as only two of the characters use guns, and the guns are used altogether a grand total of three times throughout the game.

As I said the game plays like a movie, a detective movie to be more precise.  It is very enjoyable as something for you to play with your friends or family (mostly friends) and even the people you know who would need to go to college to learn to properly use a console controller could probably figure out the controls for Heavy Rain.

All this, is why it ends at #5!!!

And on an ending note, try not to get trampled today on Boxing Day =D
