Games of the Year Countdown!!! NUMBER SIX

Lets recap what we've had in the countdown so far:
10. League of Legends
9. Halo Reach
8. Red Dead Redemption
7. God of War

Sitting comfortable at number six is Bioshock 2 by 2K Games.

In Bioshock 2 you play presumably as a Big Daddy in the underwater city of Rapture who has gained his sense of self and is in search of his 'daughter'.  Things in rapture really seem to have gone down hill as everything looks...well ruined.

Bioshock 2 is a FPS (First-Person Shooter) game that has a lot of amusing aspects to it.  First are the fact that through the campaign there are moral decisions you are faced with.  And depending on what you do it unlocks one of three possible endings.  All the endings are amusing, but the good one is actually the most entertaining.

For those who aren't familiar with the world of Rapture, it is basically an underwater city that is placedin the late 60's, early 70's time period (I think...correct me if I am wrong lol).  The world is populated by people of course, but there are also 'special' people there, mainly the Big Daddies and Little Sisters.  In Rapture there is this pseudo-drug called ADAM (go figure) that allows the users to gain psychic powers.  The people of rapture have become addicted to ADAM in a sense.  The Little Sisters are mentally altered girls who are tasked with collecting ADAM through Rapture.  They are protected by the Big Daddies, other people who are mentally altered and who are equipped with something equivalent to a heavy duty diving suit made out of solid steel.  Attack a Little Sister, and you got a Big Daddy to deal with, who won't leave you alone until either you are dead, or they are dead.

New in Bioshock 2 (since I don't remember them from Bioshock 1) are the Big Sisters.  Basically they are like grown up Little Sisters given all the hardware and firepower a Big Daddy has...on steroids....no, SUPER steroids.  Basically they are boss fights all their own.

The storyline in Bioshock 2 is fun and entertaining, and the gameplay itself is well done by my standards.  A great game is you like the FPS genre and actually want a storyline to follow.

Merry Christmas to everyone =)
