Game of the Month: February (About time, I know...)

Well I did some thinking on this one, and this game of the month is actually a game I have to thank Tommy for introducing me to.  It's a little thing that came out for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the Ninetendo DS called You Don't Know Jack!

The game originally came out in 1995 and this February a new snazzy version of it was released, with new commentary, new questions, and well...the same old host I guess.  For those who don't know, You Don't Know Jack! is a quiz show game that you can play with your friends.  Oh I know it sounds terribly boring, and that was the impression I first had when Tommy showed it to me.  However, the crazy questions and answers added onto the hilarious comments given to you by the game's host just make it incredibly hilarious.

I highly recommend getting this game if you like having things for your friends to enjoy when you have them over.  If you are a loner...well you can still play online with it so I would still get it anyway =D

Now I am sure some of you are wondering about these crazy questions.  First and foremost these questions aren't at ALL like questions from normal quiz games, in You Don't Know Jack! you have to figure out what the question is actually telling you to figure out, and find the answer that contains it.  This can be a LOT harder than it sounds, trust me.  Second each player has a screw they can use during the game in order to screw up other players.  The way the screw works is that if you don't think someone you are playing with will know the answer to the question you can screw them up by giving them only 5 seconds to figure out the answer.  If the person you screw doesn't answer the question correctly, or doesn't answer at all they lose a lot of points, and you gain a lot of points.  Finally there are the 'unique' types of questions.  In addition to the normal questions you are asked there are special questions that are asked that have themes to them (which can makes them a lot more difficult).  One unique type of question that shows up in every game are the Dis or Dat question.  The way Dis or Dat works is it picks out the player with the lowest points, then gives them two categories that are usually completely different from each other.  Then over a time of 30 seconds the player will be shown 7 different names/words/stuff and they have to say which category it belongs to.  Now, the other people in the game can also participate in this.  If the other players answer before the person with the lowest points, and the person playing the Dis or Dat gets the answer wrong and the person not playing it gets the question right, then they steal the points for that 1 item/word/whatever.  Again I am gonna say this is a lot harder than it sounds!!

There isn't much more to say about the game anyway since the gameplay is straight forward.  You are given a question, you hit the appropriate answer, tada!  Nothing to spectacular.  The questions though as simply hilarious and will make you want to keep coming back for more!

You Don't Know Jack! is available on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and the Nintendo DS.

All in all I would have to say that I can confidently give this game an 8/10 rating!

Happy gaming =)
