GEEK OF THE WEEK NOVEMBER REVIEW
Well this month Assassin’s Creed Revelations came out, and I am honoured
to once again by sharing my video game reviews with all of you. Now
the first thing to note about the game is that AC:R is the fourth game
in the Assassin’s Creed series, yet it is the third came to feature Ezio
Auditore as the main protagonist. Now I don’t hate the quick witted
and comical Italian man by any means, but as far as I am concerned, I
would appreciate it if we could just move to other, more interesting
characters that could span the timelines. Now I will say that the story does at a few points in time go on to have small segments with Altair, who was the protagonist in the first game, but it is literally only in five to six short missions that don’t really offer you any free time to just have fun as Altair. I guess that is why the PS3 copy of AC:R comes with the first game put on the disc as an additional bonus!
Now if you have played the Assassin’s Creed series at all, you aren’t really in for a surprise. It’s the exact same gameplay with a few added features here and there. The free running on the roof tops is still fun, as is everything else that makes Assassin’s Creed...well Assassin’s Creed.
The story of it isn’t bad, and Creed once again pulls a, “I am going to explain all this super complicated mumbo-jumbo stuff in the last 5 minutes inside of a cinematic.” So yeah...keep that in mind.
Honestly there really isn’t much else to say about the game. All in all it was a fun play, but there wasn’t much in it to make it seem like anything less of an expansion of the Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood game.
In total I give the game a 7/10. The graphics are good, the gameplay is engaging, but I feel the series is getting a little old, or at least in need of a new character. Definitely worth the money though if you are a fan of the series, or looking for something to help you get away from the swarm of shooter games that has been filling up the market this month.
