Game Pick of the Month: June

First and foremost, I hope everyone has a happy Canada Day (even though everything has been pushed until today, Canada Day is still today!)!

Now June has been an interesting month, and before I even get into my game of the month, I want to apologize for the lack of blog posts.  It's been a busy month for me, but I promise I will do my best do get more posts out from July onward.

Now then, onto the topic at hand, what is my game pick for June?  That's a lot easier to say than actually come to a conclusion on unfortunately.  Not many interesting games came out this month, so instead what I have decided to do is go back to a game that came out in the past few months that I thought was fun and interesting, yet haven't had time to review it.  What is this game?  Why it's none other than Gotham City Imposters!

Now what is GCI exactly?  Gotham City Imposters is a multiplayer first person shooter that just sucks away hours of your time through it's pure amusing game style and fun mechanics.  The 'story' of the game is that while Batman and the Joker are out of town two rival gangs (the 'Bats' and the 'Jokerz') go around trying to destroy or protect Gotham in the absence of their missing idol.

All in all you can boil it down to a generic first person shooter, which may make the game seem rather lackluster, and for the most part stuff you have seen before.  However this isn't a Call of Duty grey FPS shooter.  This is more along the lines of the colourful style of Team Fortress 2, only with a bit of the Call of Duty grit still held into it.

Add to this the creative weapon designs, like rocket launchers that have two liter pop bottles as their ammunition, and you get for a game that is an incredibly fun multiplayer experience.

The only downside to the game is that it is on Games For Windows Live, which is the worst multiplayer service I have ever seen for the PC.  If you can manage to get around this online service, then good job to you.  Otherwise...well shit sucks I guess.

All in all I have spent countless hours enjoying this game.  If you want to play it as well you can find it on steam at: http://store.steampowered.com/app/21170/

Until next time, happy gaming!
